About ChiChi Peralta

Chichi Peralta’s contribution to the entertainment world is not limited to an award winning songwriter/percussionist. His true talents have exposed his ability to create fresh new rhythms that have revolutionized the music industry. Chichi’s latest creation is Fuson, a new genre of music that can best be described as the "integration of tropical rhythms". Fusón’s hybrid sound was developed by Chichi himself as an attempt to express his own appreciation of the vast variety of rhythms heard internationally.

While writing this album, Chichi rediscovered feelings that set in motion an urgency to return to his roots and back to "The Old Neighborhood"; "De Vuelta Al Barrio" is his second CD release under the Caiman Records banner. Without a doubt, Chichi Peralta has demonstrated himself to be one of the few musicians and producers with a true sense of how to globalize music. In "De Vuelta Al Barrio", he matures, redefines, evolves and fuses, the ‘son’ with jazz, merengue with ‘guaguanco’ (cuban rhythm), pop with african rhythms, bachata with brazilian rhythms, plena (puerto rican native rhythm) with salsa, ballenato (colombian) with arabic, african and indian rhythms.

Chichi Peralta did not limit his time and effort with this album. He spent long hours of hard work researching and compiling a variety of sounds and experiences to create this magnificent composition. Chichi recorded all the creative aspects and the main vocal work of "De Vuelta Al Barrio" at Sterling Sound in the Dominican Republic. These extraordinary vocal performances were created by Chichi Peralta, César Olarte, and René Geraldino. He later journeyed to England with his production to record with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios and then on to Paris to team up with the chorus of Luz Africa, which included the special participation of Henri Dikongué and Issidriop. The mix was completed in the United States. The final product is an exquisite musical tapestry tinted with multiple colors that awakens the soul, heart and mind.
