Adam Scott was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. New York City, in the 1970's and 1980's was a hotbed of dance music, and Adam soaked all these sounds in, and they helped to shape his musical outlook for the future. He was first introduced to the now legendary club, The Paradise Garage, in 1985 at the age of 15. Hearing Larry, and witnessing the pure energy at this amazing venue had a most profound effect on Adam's life.
Adam pursued the art of DJing at house parties throughout Brooklyn and the New York City area. Adam eventually landed a job at Vinylmania, the seminal house music store in New York, where he remained a faithful and dedicated employee for 5 years. During his time at Vinylmania, Adam got to meet, greet, and serve all of the world's finest DJs and gain a vast knowledge of dance music history as well as current releases and current labels worldwide.
Also during this time, Adam became a regular guest DJ in the classics room of Underground Network, which was Barbara Tucker and Li'l Louie Vega's famous weekly party at the Sound Factory Bar. Having become a familiar face on the scene, and also familiar with the ingredients and dynamics of house music, Adam began to pursue his dreams of music production. Adam joined up with Vicki Bell and Ray Grappone to remix their 2nd and 3rd releases on the Vinylmania Jazz label. Ray and Vicki later went on to form the funky, unique label HipBone Records, of which, Adam was an integral part. Adam joined forces with Vicki Bell and formed the remix team "World Style", whose mixes can be heard on almost all the HipBone releases as well as IRMA-Italy and Francois K's label Wave Music (Natural Flavors).
Adam formed a friendship with John Davis, producer of Body and Soul, and after Adam played as a guest DJ at the world famous Body and Soul party, they started a new weekly party called Legends NYC, which ran for 3 succesful years. Legends featured the best local and international talent, with Adam as the resident DJ. Here, once again, Adam hosted some of the worlds most famous DJs, including: David Morales, Frankie Feliciano, Kerri Chandler, Tony Humphries, DJ Cosmo, DJ Disciple, Lenny Fontana, King Britt and Pete Heller, just to name a few. Legends NYC eventually became known around the world for presenting the real NY, soulful house sound.
Now a solo producer, Adam is currently building his stock of projects, soon to be released on labels such as Naked Music, Wave, Large and many others. Adam also enjoys travelling and DJing in various parts of the country and the world including: Washington DC, Miami, Boston, San Francisco, France, and soon to Japan. He can say proudly, that he has never played a gig where he wasn't immediately booked for a return to the same venue.
