About The Ride Committee featuring Roxy

Louie 'Balo' is the producer behind the name "The Ride Committee" He first made his mark in the early 90's with strong releases defining his left field approach to remixing and production. His collaborations include Lem Springsteen of Mood II Swing, Bill Coleman, Danny Tenaglia, and Johnny Vicious.

Louie 'Balo' is teaming up once again with the legendary Roxy, who is currently signed to Twisted Records. She was a Saturday night fixture at the clubs Midtown 43 and the Paradise Garage and still is today at NYC clubs including nights with Danny Tenaglia where she can be seen working the mic. Together, Roxy and Louie 'Balo' made history when they started releasing tracks in the early 90's. They released the classics "Get Huh", "Love To Do It", "Accident" and "Chocolate on my Peanut Butter" (recently reissued on Yoshitoshi) which all had a major impact on the NY underground scene and established a cult-like following.

More on Louie Balo:
LOUIE 'BALO' WHO WAS BORN AND BREED IN CONNECTICUT, FIRST MADE HIS PRESENCE FELT EARLY ON IN THE UNDERGROUND HOUSE SCENE WITH HIS STRONG ON-GOING RELEASES DEFINING HIS LEFT FEILD APPROACH TO REMIXING AND PRODUCTION. AS A DJ, HE BEGAN WORKING AT HIS COLLEGE RADIO STATION WNHU WHILE ATTENDING HIS FIRST SEMESTER AT SCHOOL, HE QUICKLY MOVED IN BECOMING THEIR URBAN MUSIC DIRECTOR (BASICALLY, ANYTHING THAT WASN'T ROCK OR ALTERNATIVE). HE GAINED A LOT OF BEHIND THE SCENE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MUSIC BUSINESS. BALO REALIZED THAT PLAYING MUSIC MADE BY OTHERS WASN'T ENOUGH FOR HIM, SO, HE MODESTLY PURCHASED EQUIPMENT IN THE FORM OF SAMPLERS, KEYBOARDS, AND DRUM MACHINES. HE MOVED TO NEW YORK, ATTENDED CENTER FOR THE MEDIA ARTS AND BEGAN INTERNING AT D & D RECORDING STUDIOS. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, BALO BEGAN WORKING FOR EIGHTBALL RECORDS AS THERE IN HOUSE ENGINEER, FROM THERE HE PROGRESSED TO PRODUCING RECORDS FOR OTHER RECORDING COMPANIES (LABELS). HE HAS PRODUCED RECORDINGS THAT ARE DESCRIBED AS INNOVATIVE AND IMPRESSIVE. HIS COLLABORATIONS INCLUDE WORKING WITH AXEL HOLLFELDER OF GUM, JAHKEY B OF ABOVE LOVE, 'JOE T' TURRI OF SUGARDISH, LEM SPRINGSTEEN OF MOOD II SWING, BILL COLEMAN OF PEACE BISQUIT, DANNY TENAGLIA OF STAY TUNE, JOHNNY VICIOUS OF VICIOUS MUSIK, AND DJ JEANNIE HOPPER OF LIQUID SOUND LOUNGE. LOUIE 'BALO' BELIEVES HIS DISTINCT AND DIVERSE APPROACH TO MUSIC IS WHAT SEPERATES HIM FROM OTHERS, AND TRUSTING YOUR OWN INSTINCT 100% IS THE KEY.
