Yea, and they need to put an original 1620 in the console, not the LE.

i dont get it? The le is a good solid mixer for any club no? If i was a club owner i would rather go with the le than a old urei.

The Urei 1620LE by Soundcaraft is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT sound then the ORGINAL Urei 1620. If UREI SOUND IS WHAT YOU WANT, STICK TO original ureo, period!

I don't think the LE sounds bad at all but thats just my oppinion. Yes I'm sure the ORIGINAL Urei sounds better, and the Rane 2016a sounds cleaner for sure, but the LE doesn't sound bad especially when you compare it to most of the crap thats standard today (Pioneer 800 etc)

Its a huge arena-style gig. New years ......... a few thousand people off their trolley's on booze and whatever else. There is a small percentage of people probaby listening and analyzing the sound but on the whole i bet most are probably dancing and having a good time.

So to make a statement like ''they should have used an original and not the LE'' is DUMBFOUNDED.

The interface and familiarity was there for Victor and i bet he wasn't moaning to the techs ''where's a 1980's UREI goddamit?!''

Like i pointed out it isnt a living/listening room with a state of the art soundfield.

Thats all.

PS Congratulations on having the ISO out there at this gig. I'm sure it will be on my list before long

I own both and believe it or not i use the LE...my org.urei sits on a shelf more as a collectors item. When my gear leaves the house the Le comes with me .....and if i owned a club i would install the LE just as many top clubs around the world do.

I'd rather play on an original Urei in a club than in my living room. Isn't that what it's for? A club installation mixer, not a living room mixer? But that's just my opinion. Like clubman 5 said, it's a different sound.

Club owners are cheap, they use the LE because it is priced reasonable and it's ok, the original 1620 can be 2-3 times as much. Rane 2016a or A&H over the Urei LE any day...but not the original.

lol it is funny to see how this turns again into LE vs Original vs Rane haha
Original Urei has just that sound that no other mixer has and that to my ears are soo pleasing, I would never put LE or Rane instead of my 80's Urei, peroid.
But again this is my ears, someones's ears might like LE or Rane, not ME
And I did comparisons with the Rane and Le and 80's urei (lol) on the same exact system...

You just misunderstood my point wholly. Apart from the sound, the feel and usability of an LE is EXACTLY the same as the original (ive used both btw). So unless you put yourself in a studio or audiophile situation then the alleged difference in sound between the two wouldnt make itself known in a club environment, well for at least 99% of those doing what clubs are for dancing and generally carryin on.

The club owners use the LE because it is relatively new and prob still available and as you said 3 times less in cost. So why pay 3 times more for a mixer that does the same thing EXACTLY but has a miniscule 'matter of opinion' sound difference. Lets not pip on about a vastly different sound because that is down to a matter of opinion (a word used a fair bit on this forum)

Your original point was ridiculous.

The Sound and Lighting/video at RoseLand was done by a Very large Pro Concert
company. I forgot there name but it was a Sick Setup! 20 LAcoustic double 18"subs across the front of the stage, two Front House LAcoustic Line Arrays, Side LAcoustic Setup for the Balcony's. and two rear Line Arrays. The Video was even more impressive! There was a led screen behind the Dj about 25 feet high and 60 feet across! Plus about 15 Monster Varalights on the stage. also a Hugh Hanging Trust with Leds, strobes, and moving head lights. Victor Came on at 10am and played til 930pm!!! One of the Best After Hour sets that i have heard!! Ill post a link to some Youtube videos.

I was there Halloween, and that sounds like a similar set that was there that night for Arman Van Buren. Steve Dash did that set up.
