Yesterday i had the pleasure of hanging out with SHORTY . Thanks for letting me play with your toys. We played DISCO,SOUL,FUNK,JAZZ and it all sounded great even on my bad cd copies. We ran the system flat no EQ the ISOLATOR worked magic on the music. The TAD STACKS was kicking harder than BRUCE LEE. I will be back for another session kid.[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Yeah Ed i had a great time. Im down with the production team COMPANY MEN and i asked Shorty if its ok if i can test our new work on his system just to make sure our music is correct sonically for a club. All future tracks from us will be SBS tested so every DJ will be guaranteed quality music. http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=search&ss=Soltry+Sol+Presents+Compan y+Men+feat.+Taino&sc=artists

I see you're using Shure M97Xe's - how do you find them for back-cueing? Any skipping or cantilever damage?

Also, I imagine they sound as though the top-end is rolled off through the Bozak, as they do that a bit anyway and the Bozak has almost no capacitance in the phono ins.
That's why I've ordered some AT440MLa's, but I'm a bit worried about damaging them when back-cueing, especially as they are quite high compliance carts.

Sharp eye, there, Mister Harrisan. I rarely use the Shure M97xe's on my mixers - I had them on there because I was testing the cart with my new amp. I usually have a pair of Ortofon DJS cartridges on the decks. The Shure needle is usually on a deck sitting on my desk dedicated for ripping vinyl (connected to a OBH15 Creek Audio phono pre + an RME Fireface 400).

But that's an interesting observation about the rolled off highs on the Bozak. I usually find the highs of the Bozak to be very sharp in my setup. I have the tone controls set to 10 o'clock on the treble. My ears hurt after a while if I do not do so. I had the Bozak cleaned out and all capacitors, etc replaced just a couple of years ago by Mario,.

I have heard very good things about that ATL cartridge.

Thanks Charles. I forgot to mention that little 1U crossfader. It was custom made by Duo and is integrated into the Urei 1620 for when I want to do quite cuts.

I have a pair of Paradigm Monitor 7v3's...I am looking to upgrade to something else...they sound good, but I have a feeling a better pair of speakers will work well with the mc252 amp.

I had the console made by a guy here in the Bay Area. He is a regular ol' carpenter and we worked on the design for a couple of weeks before he started. If you are in the Bay Area, I would be happy to pass along his contact info.

I can't remember what wood it is...it doesn't scratch easily and the veneer is holding up well. The end pieces can be removed and the main unit has a T shape and looks very cool on it's own.

best, Sasha
