1) Not really hard. The biggest problem was to scale the properties of the new faceplate. It needed a bit time.
I replaced the faders with new blue velvets. It took a bit fine feeling because it is very narrow in there. But from the technical side it's no problem.

2) The faceplate is from schaeffer-ag.de. You can download a software there with that you can design your plate. Every borehole and every engraving are billed singly. So you have a maximum of cost control over the whole design process. You can decide between different materials, colors and many other things. I took a 3mm aluminium plate. That's very think and robust. The only difficult thing is to know the dimensions of the old faceplate exactly.

The knobs are from sifam. Are the same that are used for the Hi-Level PM5000 (that I own).
The smaller knobs (on the mic eq and zone/booth control) are the original ones.

Thank you all!
It took me a bit time so I'm happy to hear good reactions.

I will test it out in the next days/weeks. It's very different to my PM5000. Other sound, other internal construction, other design, other way of mixing. Interesting thing. Maybe I will sell it in a few weeks. Maybe not... will see...

I'm not registered on youtube, but maybe I will find a way to upload it somewhere. Maybe on my webspace. No big thing....

The thing is, there are a few things, that make it not the best one to sell:

1. The third phono input is only mono. Didn't find the fault, everything looked fine, also the connectors were conductive

2. The headphone output is only mono in stereo mode. Also didn't find the reason for that. It's no problem for stickphones, and also no problem in the split-cue mode. There I have left and right signal, but not in the stereo mode. Don't know why. But okay, for normal use it is no problem.

3. It's the old version of the mp24 with an analog crossfader. Okay, it is an ALPS K-Fader and I cleaned it and it should be running the next few years, but somewhen it will have a rasping sound. And then you have to open the whole mixer and desolder the fader to open it and clean it. That's very laborious.

4. I've just seen it. I'm such an idiot! I wrote "programm meter" instead of "program meter" (I'm german and here we say "programm"). What a careless mistake! I payed so much attention tho the correct properties of the faceplate that I missed this little thing.

So maybe it's a perfect mixer for a german (or somebody who does not pay any attention to the word "programm") with maximum 2 turntables who don't use the crossfader and likes to use the split mode or a stick headphone

btw.
Now in germany it's time to go to bed... will be back tomorrow

Awesome job, Bossa!

I think the MP24 is great canidate for a rotary conversion. There are plenty of them around and its a solid mixer. For someone with a simple 2 TT setup or CD, the MP22 would also be cool too.

92€ + shipping

To fill the engravings with white color would had cost about 18€ more. But as you can see it is also readable without the whtie color.

ohh you donrt know the story? well was stolen from my apt , together with the Furman level meters, and an Aphex exciter,

When i move from mexico city to houston Ileft in a closet some equipment, but my dad sent to my apt peopl to instal a nw bathroom and pain the whole apartment,

There was no people keeping an eye on my stuff so guess what happens,,...

After that i was very angry of course and my dad obviously dodnt know what to do or say i guess he was very sad also,

There is no rush, hardly i mix at hom, i get that Xone 92 for 900 dlls, on ebay entirely new, one day i have some money i will get another one,

Who knows, maybe i found a seller who wants the money fast and sell his urei cheap,
