Don't like the new analogue DSI stuff..think the MoPho and Prophet 08 sound plastic and lame, with that money I would rather go vintage.none of this new stuff has the same feel or vibe, it all sounds too clean. As for the MoPho the Waldorf Pulse sounds better imo and so do it's envelopes
Earlyer this year though there was a dude selling a JP8 for 1k though wish I picked it up cos they sell for like 3k on ebay

The Evolver is cool though...it's not trying to be anything and it sounds nice

@ArmenianSoul

How are you liking the EFX 500? Why didn't you go for the 1000?

Just a basic question, since i would like to purchase an EFX unit soon.

Nox, i had the 500 for a decade now, and I just like its overall simplicty and its basic fisher price style isolater . When i do mobile gigs, i like to have it handy, the 1000 does not interest me at all. I just dont want to be overwhelmed with tons of options on a single unit.

Very interesting. I was thinking of the 500, because i have no use for 10 billion more effects on the 1000.

Thanks for the info mate.

I have had my thrive isolator for 2 weeks or so now and I have not been able to keep my hands of it I guess it has turned me into the dreaded knob goblin!!!! (Claussell) lol !
I will say a few things I think the tube adds so much warmth to the music I don't think I will ever use the solid state option at all, and the low and high x overs frequency are really cool option again being able to add as much bass punch and high's as well giving you a the ability to shape the tracks as you see fit ! I never thought an isolator could make my existing system sound sooo much better but it does for sure !! Thanks again Shorty ! I can't wait to get the Bender I NEED IT NOW !!!

Yes, I got a custom faceplate cut for it and am slowly getting some meters installed. There are some photos of it when it was more under construction on the board somewhere.

Hi Deep bias,
Like your mixer by the way, nice finish on the face plate!
I have done about 15 coats of spray paint on my custom job
and still looks crap...
just wondering where you got those nice
rotary knobs from?

thanks! the faceplate is black anodized aluminum, very sexy, a little Frontpanelexpress job. it was $60 with shipping, after trying to drill the first one i realized i should just get it done pro.. don't regret it except that now i really want an effects send and don't want to drill into it .

the knobs are from digikey, solid aluminum and very nice feel:

Its def worth getting it done pro, drilling and sanding is hard
work for a novice like me!
That sucks re: effects send, another new faceplate perhaps?

Thanks for the info on the digikey knobs, they look awesome!

a New Toy to Play With

Picked this up on the bay. I sure a few here looked at it. I will have a review once it's received and played with for a while. An oldie but goodie.
