Looks like the old Numark/PPD clone of the Urei 1620, from back when Numark was making real quality gear. Looks in REALLY nice shape too. Nice one.

That is one hell of a nice mixer that Crest, I don't know why it's not as popular as the 2016
Some people on this board I think also mentioned it sounded nice.

Here is the rear for those not familiar, some nice aditions on there too.

I love my crest. In fact , I'll take the Crest history of building pro mixers overs over Rane's mixer history any day. BTW-the side-by-side mounting of the expander is pretty neat. I'd love to try that if i had the surface space.

That is one hell of a nice mixer that Crest, I don't know why it's not as popular as the 2016

Rane put out the first 2016 Urei copy out when there was no other new alternative to the Urei. Soundwise the first Ranes and Crest were identical in sound . in fact the only major difference is the port pinout. The Rane has two power supplies while the Crest is powered through the main mixer which I prefer. The 4band main EQ is gives you much more flexibility in tailoring the output-IMHO.

Nitred: regarding the side to side installation with the mixer and expander. You have to buy a Different CORD for connecting both units. The ribbon supplied by CREST or for RANE is not long enough ( It's intended for TOP or BOTTOM application, NOT Side to Side)
I bought my 36? Pin @ ebay for like $2.00, SO i can mount my mixe+expander side to side. Hope this helps.

Console in the making.

I had some 1/2" ply left over from a speaker building project. Instead of letting it warp in the shed I decided to make a console. It's in the beginning stages. The objective is to make things self contained. This will be carpeted once all the little details are included. i.e., rack rails, connectors, etc...

Looks very nice. I'm thinkin about doing the same thing and what I want will look identicle to your except that I want 3 Turntables and 3 racks. How many rack spaces is that and how deep from the front of the rack? Oh, and is it sturdy enough with 1/2" ply, No flex?
