New Pionner mp3 player, no cd drive

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn0yzQA3b8g

I am super curious to see how this compares to the cdj 2000. And the price point of $999 seems a lot more reasonable.

I should learn to read better. I just found this in the article "Now, a few caveats. The players are around the CDJ-850 level in Pioneer’s range; it’s as if Pioneer is testing the market here before coming in with an all-singing, all-dancing XDJ-2000. "

Thought I'd throw the image on the thread.

Its an obvious progression (but its not necessarily progress). I can see how the touch screen works on a number of levels (i.e. - firmware updates could allow for the addition new features or "buttons" or even a custom layout). However, I think they're underestimating the importance of tactile feel. Could you imagine someone like Karizma banging out something on a touch screen. At least they left some of the most used features as is. Perhaps Pioneer will leave dedicated buttons to the "high-end model".

I'm betting they're going to come out with a higher end model. This one doesn't have hot cues or the full platter adjust like CDJ200s. Puts it more in line with CDJ900s.

Definitely agree with you there.

it has a touch screen, quite possible that some of the physical buttons/knobs are now touch screen.
