In the 1980s the 402 was a good vocal / PA stand alone system for medium size rooms. If you added the large optional sub woofer it was reasonably acceptable for medium size rooms for music when installed correctly. The trick was two upper boxes to each sub woofer. As we all know technology continued to grow and obsolete many of the things that were decent sounding during their golden era.
