when you post, below the text box there is a area called "attach file"
click on the browse box and select your photo file, but do not preview the post once the pic is attached.... just submit it...
good luck!

attach a file
When you post there is an option to attach a file. Click browse next to the empty box and find your picture. Sometimes you have to trim it down or change the type of file for it to meet the file size.

Here are some pics of my console. Still a work in progress as I am adding an LCD monitor in front (arm attachment to come). Most of my new music is MP3. The TTs and CDJs are there to play all of the old stuff.
Not as nice as a club install, but I needed it to look like a wet bar or a table of sorts to blend in my room and not be an eye sore (WAF).

I have added an X3004 Isolator from Electronique-Spectacle to my setup over the weekend so thought I would share some new pictures.
I am very happy with the unit... It sounds great.

Hey Jaysoul,
what did you construct your console out of?
After something similar, and I like the look/size.
Cheers
Pete
P.s. How did you get in tough with E&S re: the isolator? How much?

Yo Deep,
Thanks for the comments. My console was very cheap and easy to construct, as I am no joiner! The console is placed on top of two sets of drawers. On top of the drawers I have about 5 mdf vinyl holding boxes, which can be ordered very cheap as flat packs.
To make the actual console top I used two standard pieces of conti-board purchased from B&Q for approx £15 each. I then cut the holes out for the turntables into one of the boards. I then used cheap, planed timber to build a base around the perimeter of the bottom board upto the correct height for the TTs and then placed the top board on top of it. And voila... thats about it!
I hope that makes sense.
As for the E&S Isolator. I simply emailed Jerome Barbe with my order. He was very helpful, with great communications throughout. He even called me one morning whilst I was playing some records to tell me he had finished building the unit and was going to ship it.
The unit cost me approx £380 including sales tax and UPS shipping.
I am very happy with it, great product.
If you would like to contact Jerome yourself his email address can be found on his website here: http://www.electronique-spectacle.com/contact.php
Peace
Jay

Sorry... forgot to mention,
The mixer and isolator are suspended from the top part of the console using flat pieces of steel. The steel strips run flat along the bottom piece of conti-board to which they are bolted.
Where the strips begin to pretude from the console I put a bend into each of the strips at approx 30-40 degrees.

It looks good to me, what the PMC-CX rotary like? I've always fancied getting hold of one of those at the moment im torn between the PMC-CX rotary, PMC-500 Rotary and the Xone 92 Rotary your input would be appreciated.
Thanks

well, i have to be careful on this forum as people here deem Vestax has having Fisher Price quality...
I can say that the layout is superb, the only thing that keeps me using my Xone 92 along with this beauty is Ableton Live and some scratching.
seriously, the filters are quality and the master isolator also! I can recommend that to anyone!

Thanks John, I currently have an Empath but I want to go rotary. I was originally looking at E&S DJR400 but cant really justify the money. Equally i would like to go for a Urei but with an isolator its heading towards the same price as the E&S. Hence Im looking at the mixers i mentioned before (PMC-CX, PMC-500, Xone 92)
Hope you dont mind if i put you on the spot? If you had to choose, which would you go for the Xone92 or the PMC-CX since you have experiance of both?
I to love the layout of the CX and the 92 looks a bit of a mess in comparrison and Im not 100% on the 4 band Eq on the 92...but some of the features on the 92 make it stand out as well and from what Im told the sound is quite good?? Probably better than the Vestax??? Hope Im not opening a can of worms up here with this thread?? Im just trying to make an imformed decison before i spend my hard erned cash!!!
Thanks
Minpud

if you search the board archives....
there was a memebr here who modified his Empath with penny and giles rotary faders... he fully documented the process with pictures and was willing to share his experience.... (IMO this is the project that lit a fire under Rane's ass to release the Empath rotary edition)
maybe that is an alternative that you could look into too...
this is the main thread but there are others too...

good luck and have fun

If I'd spin only house or 4/4 beat dance music I'd go for the Vestax because of the beautiful package.
My unit actually was to be used by Carl Cox himself at a gig in France, too bad he cancelled the gig only 1 hour before start time!
Because I sometimes also scratch a bit and want to quick mix on r&b and hip hop as well as rock, I would go for the Xone 92.
Sonically the Xone 92 is amazing and whilst the Vestax is not far away, it is still behind.
So the answer to your question depends on the music you play.
