Which Nagaoka carts are you running and how do you find them.

I'm considering hifi carts after reading some of what Reticuli has written on 'outdated' Stanton designs (I have used Stantons for decades myself).

Oh shit the Bozak is out dated that means I need a modern Pioneer lol...Stanton out dated? So whats the Shure and Ortofon..they all use ancient designs same with Grado.
Just use your ears in what you think you should use on your turntable...

Hi-Fi carts for dj'ing give me a break I don't want to worry about the cart not skipping all night but to be able to fully perform without having to worry about skips or ouch shit every time I back cue it's costing me $29082340 or even worse cos I'm putting so much pressure on the canteliver it might snap (I have done it on Audio Technica years ago)
Some times people are to anal about things imo any way back to the pics lol

Oldiesbackonstage in The Netherlands

Hi,
I played with a friend previous saturday at an oldies party in Veghel in The Netherlands the garage classics with my stuff (Urei, Bozak, dbx, JBL, Rane, Crown, technics, etc.. ) and a great buch of original 12 inches from the golden era 1973- 1985.
Lots of beautifull women. Everybody had a good time. Back to our youth.
enjoy the pics

Hey Martin,

I hope you are not referring to me about this - yeah I know I use AT440mla's but they hardly ever skip and I back-cue as normal (just as long as there are not too many beverages in the equation!!!).

Peace,

CJ.

Agreed, my Grado Prestige carts don't give me any problems either. I wouldn't try any agressive scratching with them, but....well......I wouldn't try that anyway.

Kevin,

I have been doing mobil work for over 20 years. I had it all and used it all.

Yorkville cabinets is the best for your buck and sound but most of all the power consumption. All my speakes are powered. The subs are the best subs I have heard for there size. Again they are powered. NOT MUCH CURRENT NEEDED...

What I have;
4-508p baltic birch
4-808p baltic birch

also rcf
2-525 & 2-310

While I haven't had a chance to hear any of their cabinets for myself yet, I have heard nothing but great things about them. I am still looking into some speakers to replace the crappy JBL Eon 15G2's in my home studio rig and its between a pair of EAW 153Z's and a pair of Yorkville Unity U15's. The Yorkville's are the front runner at the moment, the specs look just a little bit better. I know they aren't the same ones your using, but just was wondering your general oppinion on Yorkville products. Your oppinion seems to be in line with what I've heard from just about everyone I've asked.... their great cabs.

Thanks man, and hope your having a great Fathers Day.

i too have been using yorkville for many years there elite series of cabinets are stellar and the new unity series tops are fantastic they have a great horn system where there are 3 5'' mids and a 1'' driver mounted on the hf horn

hands down the best top cabinet fo vocals ive heard they just cut through any size crowd

the subs are nice too very cool stuff they have knobs on the rear of the cabinet for tuning the sub

like mario said they are workhorse gear and are the best value for money in the industry

and made in canada to boot!

(can you tll im a little biased eh)

Those Yorkvilles are great. Sound is tight, and bass kicks. I used the unpowered Elite speakers for years. Now I use all RCF for ultra mobility.

Those Yorkville speakers have RCF and B&C drivers.

We have in inventory....

(4) E152B's, (4) LS1208B's, (2) E210B's, (2) LS608B's. All Yorkville.

My dealer conned me into buying them without (yikes) hearing them. I love them. And I freelance for a major sound co using L'Acoustics Vdsoc and dVdosc, and Meyer. That gives you my comparison base. They kick the crap out of the SRX's. Great entry-level pro box... All AB International amplification except for the subs, which is a Yorkville amp.

KEVIN!:

We're in your neighborhood (northern CA) so if you want to hear them drop me a line at justin.funke@me.com or check out the photos at rentadjwest.com.....

Cheers

I have four of the 153z boxes and they sound great. I keep 2 in my basement because the fidelity at home levels is pretty damn good. The cone mid is far less harsh and more musical than a compression driver IMHO.

I've been home the last couple of weeks so I decided to make myself a console

Still need some sanding and of course a paint job, but right now I value using it higher than finishing it up so that's something I have to do another time.
