Santos Party House
After falling in love with the old system at Vinyl going to Body&Soul, Shelter, and Dance Ritual....I went to a B&S reunion at ARC...wow, I thought, they sure ruined this system I thought Phazon was a joke after that..later I heard they had a problem with the subs that night...every time Joe went to launch that system it sounded like someone cruising by in an Olds 98 with their license plate rattling off. I couldn't believe it. Awesome energy in the crowd as usual..a return to church indeed..I miss you B&S.
Then I went up to a reunion at Webster....good energy, great crowd...but there is a difference between playing a venues system and playing a system that is your residency, your home field, your pulpit. So Webster lacked the rumbling, cell vibrating, transcendent bass, the singeing, sizzling, spring apple crisp highs..I was left renewed, but hungry.
My friend says to come up to 718, Danny has a guy doing the sound system at Santos Party House and it's divine.....so the weekend of Sept...10-12 I will come. Who's system is it? Hows it sound and who's the guy?

About six weeks ago, Webster Hall lost a few ITech amps and they took out a load of woofers & drivers. I was able to get their re-cones back in their hands just in time for the holidays.
The dance system in WH's Grand Ballroom was originally in Spirit and was installed by our friends Steve Dash and George Stavro.
It's a pretty resilient sound system given the amount of abuse the guest DJ's impart onto it.

when you say "lost"
what sort if failure mode are we talking about?
just curious,
maybe we can glean some 'protip' to help out long term maintenance issues

I'm not privy to that. As I stepped away from the internal workings at WH in '08, I serve as the vender for components/equipment needing repair, rentals and the occasional purchase of new equipment.
In today's world of technology heavy and networked gear, one component's failure can affect others downstream. It's rare but just one of the negatives after considering all the benefits of networking.
Of course, the issue could have simply been house power caused.
Personally, I prefer source>DSP>amplifiers without networking. A little old school but it works for me.

I prefer:
source>real DJ>analog crossover>analog EQ>amplifiers>horns
On topic:
Has anyone listend to the Ageha system?
I talked to some DJs (Extrawelt) and they did not liked it at all.

Laurin, I've been there around 3 times, one time for each of the times I've been to Tokyo the last 3 years.
Usually it sounds pretty good, but I think it might be too loud at times and it can definitely be a little "too much".
As I assume you have seen from pictures the system is built 360 degrees in a circle around the dancefloor, and the subs are mostly in the middle pointing out, so wherever you are, you will most likely be in a sweet spot soundwise.
With that being said, I think they might operate with a lot of different setups, depending on live acts etc during the night. Don't know if this can be a factor in Extrawelts dislike of this system?
ageHa is kind of funny, but usually it's pretty commercial and has a very young crowd compared to the more serious club scene. I guess this can be why the sound is loud and a bit too much at times, the same as most of the people going there and maybe even most of the live acts/djs playing there too. Not reffering to Extrawelt though, lol.
Anyway, they have a big console by the side of the main dancefloor where there's technicians tweaking and monitoring the soundsystem the whole time. So the way I see it the sound should be as good as it can 99% of the time! I don't know if they where on the floor during the night, but maybe the booth/scene of ageHa just isn't the place to be be when you want to hear how it sounds.
