First A/B test UREI 1620 and McIntosh Pre

So here's the first of my tests i talk about on the UREI getting old thread,

So far i records the same two songs on the same turntable but with diffrent preamp the Phono of the Urei and The pre of my Mac 4100

Turntable is a thorens TD 165 with At 440 mla (new) catridge
interfase is a MOTU Ultralite

the zip files says 01 and 02 tracks, im not saying which is mac or urei, please take a listen on those samples and send me your feedback on wich one you like better.

Forget to mention, UREI output was from tape outs, No tones, or master volume added,,

It is intended that file 1 is in reversed stereo as file 2 in both tracks?

Is it a McIntosh MAC 4100 Receiver Using Tape out ? The Preamp out on it is Post EQ section etc.

I would think a big part of the Urei sound would be all the stacked gain sections, the diode clipper, and the vintage output TX. I think, after the preamp card, there is only a TL074 buffer stage. The signal never gets to all that other "signature" stuff when using the Tape Outs...

Just a friendly $0.02,

interesting to hear that, regarding MASTER OUT

And no, there are not intended to be inverted stereo, maybe bad labeled cable, and low visibility when connected, my bad

The Mac have no post/pre eq goes flat, thats why i decide not to use master output on the UREI so they are at the same stages, just preamps,

ok , the reason i asked if it was a McIntosh MAC 4100 Receiver was that if you used the Preamp Out, then there would be a lot of OPs etc. in the signal path.

Not 2 Op-Amps in the signal path, and still sounds like music
