for home use and [some] mobile platforms, it's great and performs just like any of the other 2 reissues. totally happy with it and people love coming by to play on it [pause]. not a bad move if the price is right.

the expander though is a piece of shit, imo. i slept on kicking it out and copping a gsa 3001 when i got my severance check earlier this year. but that's what a whirlwind of partying, playing gigs, and having no idea the day of the week will do to you if you have a month free before you start a new job. c'est la vie..

Hey everyone! long time guest, just joined. Impressive pics all of you. I hope to put up pics sometime soon. Can anyone direct me to someone who can build a DJ console/booth. I would love to have a console at home. Thanks.

Here is a couple people that do Bad Azz consoles

SBS Shorty , Kevin Chillis, Brian Wilson, Vcutaudio I am sure there are others I have forgot, but I am sure other members can add some to the list. there is a company in Europe that build custom consoles as well .

For now I am not planning on selling it, but you never know. If do decide to sell it, I'll post it here first.

its a cool mixer and probably sounds better than the le version of the urei if its older as older mixers seem to be built better than newer ones at least thats been my experience in build quality of mixers made in the 80s

Hey

The controllers are EKS XP5's ( http://eks.fi/product.php?p=products&id=31 )
They use midi and EKS supply drivers so can be set-up to pretty much control anything.

If that question is directed to me, that is not a controller, its my cd remote for my Denon DND 4000 dual tray cd mixer. I do not use any midi controllers at all. I have yet to know how to work those. I use Serato and I control it using the Time Coded Vinyl or the Time Coded CDs when using Pioneers or any cd players. I play mostly the time coded vinyl when using Serato.

@ Fred, I had a feeling that your theory may be correct about the older mixer having a better sound than the newer mixers. That is why I have chosen not to sell the Power mixer (for the moment). I also have been aware that my mixer is rare which also contributes to me keeping the mixer. However, just like most of us, I always wanted a Bozak or an Urei and that is why I am going for the UREI LE. I simply dont have $1800 or more to get a refurbished classic Bozak or Urei.

Lol, Don't worry Fred you didn't discourage me. I haven't thought on selling the Power mixer. I am trying to decide which mixer will be my home mixer and which mixer will be my road mixer.

Not entirely true, the LE has much better build quality than the original Urei in so many respects (Construction, quality of PCB's, PSU design etc) perhaps minus the mix pots as some people say the older BlackBeauty pot was better made compared to the Blue Velvet but this pot could not be used for the LE as it's no longer in production.
This of course has nothing to do with the way it sounds though..the original 1620 for most is still the best sounding Urei but tweak the LE enough and you can make it sound sweet.

On a final note the LE has gone back up in price to 1k if some one wants new
