Danny Tenaglia's Loft Pictures

Hi peeps,

Not sure if this has been posted here previously but I couldn't see it anywhere and knew a lot of people would find this interesting!

Welcome to the headquarters of DTour Inc., Be Yourself Int. and Stay Tuned Productions.
We have been here since 2001 & I am finally sharing my very private happy space with all of my friends, peers, mentors, colleagues, and fans as well.
Sorry MTV Cribs ... you tried, but I humbly said: thanks, but no thanks. :-)

This is my favorite shot as the lens captured 3 of the 4 stacks. I decided to paint them white and it gave an entirely new energy to the room. It's all about energy! :-)

Yes, an original Scully Lathe/Acetate/Dub Plate machine. It weighs almost 1000 pounds and it was nearly impossible to get it delivered up here because we have no elevator. Imagine 4 delivery men screaming their way up the stairs for almost 2 hours! 1 - 2 - 3 AHHHHhhHH!!!!! LOL

This side rack has DJ mixers that I've collected since the 70's including an original silver face 1975 Bozak. There is also a Power Mixer, Sound Workshop, Vestax, Rane, Pioneer 800, Pioneer 1000, a custom mixer designed by Marshak Audio which blends UREI & BOZAK all sitting in there like a Museum. THE MAIN MIXER ON SYSTEM OUTSIDE IS A UREI - Naturally!

The Amp Room! Use to be much more until Gary Stewart of GSA came up here like a hurricane and turned it out and tuned it up with all 5 Crown 5002s, 5 Crown CTs 600, new drivers, and all of this stuff that you can't see and I don't know what it is and 700 pounds of cable! LOL GSA AUDIO!

This record explosion is from a couple of years ago. This went on to become the Pro-Tools studio but ultimately became our main office where Bossman Kevin now sits with our chief assistant & dear friend: Alex Perez.

Although I do still have all six stacks from the original Shelter, Vinyl, Body & Soul system, I only have four on because 6 would BE way too much! :-0

The Disco Ball went up Five Years after me being up here. It was a present to me from Kevin McHugh! The lights on top of the record shelves are now mounted into the ceiling.

records records records and about 20,000 records . . . . . . . . There will never BE enough time to listen to them all . . . .

I love these chairs. They are very JFK Biz Class lounge, Circa 1967! Behind the orange wall and door is the recording studio.

This is Burchan's Paradise! We give him water and feed him twice daily with 3 bathroom breaks only! :-x I call him THE BURPORT MASTER!! But we have other secret sources too! ;-x

This is where we made Futurism, Space Dance and loads of Edits & Mashups with lots more to come. Last week I was offered to remix Depeche Mode's song "PERFECT" .... but the timing was not Perfect as they needed it yesterday and I don't know how to BE an engineer with Logic, plug ins and all that Crazy Tech stuff!!! Oh well ..... NEXT! :-)

Some of my old school gear. So much of it is "plug ins" these days AND YES, That is the original Artwork from above the entrance of 6 Hubert Street. Awwww .... :-/

These 2 Vinyl stacks are housed in this room but are not powered up yet. We mainly use the near-field Tannoys and Mackies.

Above all the gorgeous equipment, I envy the amount of space Tenaglia has to work in. Lovely!

Yes. And my God does that man love his little hand held spot lights lol. He is definitly a full blown entertainer though not just a dj, he puts on a great show and really interacts with the crowd etc. I have heard from a lot of people say that he gets on the mic WAY too much though and I have to say that was not my experience seeing him. Yes he did get on the mic a few times, but nothing I would call excessive in the least. Oh.. and his mixing was absolutely flawless and track selection was on point all night.

was $40 or so back in like 1996...

and i think that was
for any regular night/day during spring break/summer seasons....
(not that we ever paid, but still...)

The Mike Marshak mixer from Salvation, Miami Beach! truly a rare, and unique one off, and from what I had been told, a GORGEOUS SOUNDING mixer.

We pay close to that all the time in Tokyo. 3500 (approx $35US) for a normal club night, anywhere between 4000-5000 (approx $40-$50US) for a big event and I paid 10 000 (approx $100US) to see FK at the closing night at Yellow about a year ago. It's the going rate.

I went to Pacha a month or so ago to hear him and he was great. He does his show and stuff but he still has those "holy shit wtf is this I have no idea what to even call this" bombs that I've never heard anyone else play. I still have to say when dt is in his zone, there really is no one else like him.

I've been to that loft, albeit a while ago when it wasn't in its current form and it is an amazing space. Honestly I was a little sad to see the old Vinyl system changed over to what looks like a DSP processor based system with Crown CTS amplification, but I guess that's just splitting hairs. One of my favorite systems of all times when it was at Hubert st. Just so dirty and gritty sounding, miss that!
