Rane MP2016 EQ Question

Hi,

I was hoping that someone can answer a query about a friend's Rane MP2016 mixer. The question is regarding the EQ section on the far right hand side of the mixer. My friend has an XP2016 EQ unit but does not have it plugged in (not in use), he has Mackie active speakers plugged directly into Rane mixer - BUT, to get reasonable sound he has to have the bass EQ knob turned almost right down (around 7 O'clock) - if you try and use the mixer with the bass EQ set at 0 (12 O'clock) the bass is way way too overpowering.

IS this normal / to be expected or is there something wrong with the EQ section of the mixer?

Thanks,

Jay

If you mean in terms of ruling out any problems with the Mackie Active speakers then yes. I took round my Urei 1620LE and hooked it up to the speakers and had no problems at all, good sound.

Yes that is possible, good idea. There is a small depression at 0, so find that, take the knob off, and reset the knob.
