Wave Meetup March 21?

I know that this board isn't nearly as active as it has been in years past, but I am always interested in meeting Wave tech talkers who can teach me a thing or two about sound design. I can't express how much I've learned from reading old posts.

So let's get to it: Nicky Siano is throwing his 60th birthday party at Scott Fitlin's (R.I.P. Clubman5 ) beloved Eldorado Bumper Cars in Coney Island on March 21. This is something that I am traveling from out of state to hear because I have always wanted to hear Scott's system and I've always wanted to hear Nicky play live. To hear both at the same time seems too good to miss.

Does anyone else want to meet up for this? Or better yet, is anyone here involved with this party? I would love to get a tour of the system and get a glimpse of it up close. I'm thinking it would be a fun thing to do and a great way to honor Scott, who I personally feel indebted to even though I never met him.

Cheers,
Ben

Kind of makes me feel sad thinking about it, that system in there was a pleasure to listen to as was Scott. Hope you bump, bump, bump you ass for off.

Wonder if the system still has the custom BOZAK mixer in it that was custom built for Scott by Buzzy Beck.

It was an excellent time. Well worth the flight to be there!

The music was on point and the crowd was fantastic, a good mix of people. I got to sit in the bumper cars, dance dance dance my ass off on a metal floor and listen to some of my favorite tracks on a great system!

The only negative was that Nicky played off his Macbook all night, to the horror of many. I'll never understand advertising an RLA disco system and then having your hard drive crash during the show. Some tracks sounded amazing on that system, others sounded harsh in the highs like the files were compressed.

Sounds like a good time was had.

Source material doesn't care about format, bad recordings will always sound bad regardless of digital or analog. Though saying that, those hyper compressed digital files often sound poor.
