Pioneer EFX 500 w/ E&S DJR400

could this unit be compromising the sound of the E&S?
I used one with my E&S the other night and it seemed like the EFX stifled
the output of the DJR. The sound, especially in the booth was A LOT lower, even with the in/out gains running high on the EFX unit.
Anyone have an EFX 500 and experience this?

Hey,

There is a input level switch on the rear of these units, it is either set to -10dB or +4dB, you can figure out what setting you may have had that is causing the output level to drop.

the switch was set to -10dB. that is the required setting in the EFXs' manual if using the unit with the send/return of a mixer. The +4dB is for when using the EFX in line between master out and Amp. Maybe i should just try +4dB and see what happens. I wonder why they would drop the levels by 10dB if using in the FX loop??

Running it thru the efx/out to your amo is not going to make it sound any better. I have a djr & 1620, tested both & found the loop to be the better choice then running it thru
