the reason for the new holes was to keep the signal path as short as possible. I wanted the pots to look like they came with the unit. The modification of the circuit board was to maintain the stock appearance.
I like clean installs. The work took a bit more time to complete, but the results was worth the effort. Not to mention the pots now line up perfectly like the original pots.
If the pot should ever go bad, desolder, remove, replace, solder and let's go. No hot glue to remove. Glue removal can be tedious.
