Power conditioner for a original Urei 1620
hello to the good people of the Wavemusic Community,

I just recently bought an early build (1984) original Urei 1620 out of a club in Toronto. The unit was quite dirty but after a good few days of cleaning it up its looking great, no wear on the faceplate and the pots are smooth as butter. This particular unit has a balance pot mod that has changed it to a gain trim for each channel, very handy. Right now I am looking for a power conditioner for the mixer and was looking for suggestions. I noticed a crazy loud hum when I plugged it into the wall and figured the conditioner is what I need. Do most of you run a power conditioner with your 1620's? Any insight or help would be appreciated :)

I don't own an Urei 1620, but sounds like you might need to change some internal components rather than getting a power conditioner to fix the humming if ti's coming from the mixer itself?

Im going to have my tech guy look at the internals to see if anything needs replacing. Considering the age its very possible there is something that needs to be replaced.

On the 1620 the filter caps are right next to the vreg (too close) and get scorched, that could have something to do with it.
