Soundcraft Urei 1620 LE parts

I emailed Soundcraft and asking them to give me the availability of new faceplate, loop in/out pins, nob caps, etc. they replied the next day said that they don't have those parts for that model! So I asked what if I need those parts for repair? I am still waiting for their answer.

Serious? No parts?

Isn't that the same company/owner that now is selling BOZAK "audio for the soul". Maybe you could track him down for some assistance.

And this is one of the reasons I won't have anything to do with Soundcraft products.

Agreed.

I have a Urei LE, sound is ok.. but since they discontinued it pretty much right out of the gate.

LE for limited editiion..

should be the GLFP version.. good luck finding parts..

My friend at Soundcraft when he was working there tried to get us parts and it wasnt happening..

Luckily with this mixer you can pretty much find everything you need custom as it is pretty straightforward stuff electronically.. faceplate could be a hassle to make as a one off but its doable..

....it could be worthwhile to drill out some thin plexi/acrylic to prevent wear to the screening....

remember that posting fiasco, anyone? ;)

I only mentioned Paul M (audio for the soul) because I was under the impression he was responsible for the LE. I would never consider a new BOZAK just because of these type issues. Not a good way to do business especially when you look at a company like the original USA Bozak that still helps people 20 years after they are out of business. Lets hope people never confuse the two.

if a good contact at Harmon could be found....
that's another possibility to source parts from...

I've read of components escaping that are not generally available retail....

I don't think "audio for the soul" bozaks will be confused for the original articles....
not by folks who do their homework at least....

I believe some stores are still selling left over Urei 1620 LE. So how they deal with the warranty service as discontinued "brand new" unit? Thats why I hate Harman International!

charles0322 07-13-2013 11:04 AM

My best friend worked at Harmon (Soundcraft Canada) There were no parts to be had.. He was one of the heads of parts/service.. Its like they junked all the parts or never had any intention of stocking parts.. things like phono card didnt exist let alone other parts like faceplates and such..

My faceplate has a few scuffs but the numbers have not faded ore worn at all, I use this mixer everyday.. its a decent sounding mixer but there is a lot to be desired on the audiophile front..

I had the Rane 2016a in the booth for a while, Im back to the Urei LE now and the xone92 in the setup with three 1200,s
