Wow! Congratulations, Pern! So excited to see this come to fruition!

Pern 03-25-2013 01:41 AM

Thanks :)

Since i need a ISO in some of my Mixer plans i had to finish it...

Great to see this stuff getting into more and more hands.

Did you experiment with rolling opamps in this circuit? Any opinions on that?

rs

Pern 03-26-2013 02:31 AM

Yes, i did. But i have already done so much of that before. Now i mostly work with a mix of component brands and models that i like.

I think that you can do only so much with replacing a single component. You have to look at the whole design and the sum of all components if you want to do any drastic changes.

what is the preferred method of payment? thanks, C

PayPal.

Order Info is here: http://www.bozure.com/T1.aspx?PID=101

Thanks for the info.

I've got a +/- 18V DC power supply. Could I use that supply instead, bypassing the first power input and inserting it at the DC output terminals?

Good work Pern, i'm sure you'll have plenty of success.

Rolling op-amps is a little futile and time wasting without proper measurements, been down that path too often and without measuring it's like a mad dog chasing it's own tail.

Bias of the experimenter really does come into play when only using your ears, i have been guilty of it and when a difference is found it can often be caused by poor implementation.

Save me going on, great read here.

darn, just ordered an Omnitronic isolator, then saw this. Price difference is marginal...

Pern 03-28-2013 04:16 AM

This one use 100% high quality components (Carbon Film Resistors, ELNA Silmic II Caps, TL074 etc) . So it's not really the same as the omnitronic, you should compare it with ISOs using similar type of components.

The design goal was not to build the cheapest possible ISO where price was the most important factor.

Pern 03-28-2013 04:26 AM

@RS

Yes you can use your own PSU. But you should then remove the regulators and connect the + and - to where the regulators output pins was + GND.

Just ordered one. Looks like it will compliment my MP24 conversion project perfectly.

Got my parts in the mail a few days ago, just waiting on the power supply to arrive from another distributor. Excited to get soldering!

Anyone else built one? Anyone building one now? Want to trade tips/pics/first impressions?
