Lovely looking system.

Out of interest, how big is the dancefloor?
Also, do you have any photos of the subs?

Thanks.

Do you sale that plexi glass tweeter array just the box? lol...serious! it looks good!

k-cee 10-29-2010 02:08 AM

That array looks awesome!

atf104 10-29-2010 02:27 AM

Thanks guys for the kind words :)

The dance floor is about 20' x 45', kinda long in shape.

We're supposed to have a photo shoot done in a week or so and I'll post them as they'll be much better then my photos, but for now I don't have too many. I used 12 - 18" custom horn-loaded sub cabinets (2 in each corner and 4 in the middle for fill).

shihp001: If you're interested I'd be more then happy to sell you a plexi tweeter array, loaded or unloaded. The ones pictured are loaded with Beyma CP22's and the plexi is milled specifically for the bolt pattern on this tweeter. They sound really nice imo. I can also do the plexi in color, but I choose clear for this job.

Just shoot me an e-mail: adam@sonicsolutionsav.com

Looking very good Adam, I'm sure it sounds even better! Congrats on the install, very nice work indeed

Thanks Charles :)

Some pics of the subs I built:

Lovely photos of the subs. Good to see a dancing platform above some of the subs (or at least I assume it's a dancing platform). People dancing on raised platforms always add to the atmosphere of clubs.

Just got the photos back from the photo shoot we did last week. Here's the final photos:

I like that booth a lot, Adam. Very well laid-out. As a DJ, I would be happy as a clam to show up and see that.

Pioneer mixer excepted of course :D

It's rack mounted for a reason, easy swap-ability lol. I did get the rotary option as well. I'm dj'ing this weekend and will be either using that or I'll just bring my Urei and really see what the system can do lol

But thanks :)

Excellent looking install. Great photos!

Just a little addition would be a trapdoor under the booth, triggered by red lights on the Pioneer mixer.

Fantastic work!
Really love your work, clean and stylish.

Have you ever tried to use the DJM's digital out?
Had some very good results with it.

atf104 11-16-2010 02:56 PM

Thanks Laurin!

I have actually experimented with the digital out on both the Pioneer mixer and CDJ's. I was actually going to do digital out of the DJM mixer into the BSS processing via a digital I/O card on the BSS for an all digital signal path. However, last minute I chose not to just for simplicity reasons and if someone wanted to change out the mixer, etc.

It does sound really clean though the CDJ to DJM, the only thing for this install is very few if any DJ's are using CD's. Most use Serato or Traktor, and if they're using the CDJ's it's just for control purposes. Also, I built the console so to the left and right of the center section, the CDJ's sit on matching "stands" that are removable for more counter top space if necessary for some of the guys using a lot of midi controllers, etc. The stands are the same profile as the center section so the blend in, but if you look closely you can see the separation. Also the center section top is on a hinge so you can "open the hood" for easy access to the mixer, cabling, etc.
