Balanced Power?

I was talking with someone about the topic of balanced power and how it supposedly makes everything sound nicer by reducing all sorts of line noise. Anyone have any insight on these gadgets?

Try it out before you get into it. Monster Cable makes a similar product, so if you can try to demo one, or buy one from a vendor that allows 30 day returns (e.g. Best Buy, or Fry's). This way you won't risk losing out on $400 and will positively know if it's something you feel makes an improvement.

Electrical current can affect the sound of your equipment, but it's not necessarily the most critical improvement. Things like interconnects, electronic components, source components, and speakers will give you more improvement per dollar. Power conditioning, balancing, or filtering should come into play only after you feel that you've reached the apex of your sound systems potential AND your rooms acoustics.
