Have heard mention around that some high end club installs are using the DVJ-X1 because it has better audio quality than the CDJ-1000. I'm talking purely from a 44.1/16 audio CD standpoint.
Is this true? When thinking about it I can't imagine there would be any increase.

I do see mention in the DVJ-X1 manual that it has:
Legato Pro which up-samples CD from 44.1kHz to 176.4kHz
Hi-Bit which extends the length from 16-bit to 24-bit.
I don't see it mentioned for the CDJ-1000MK2

Maybe if the DVJ-X1 has better D-A convertors it might sound better, but neither upsampling or extending the word length would do anything for the quality of material originating as 16/44.1.
The only possible benefit would be to the potential quality of any built-in digital effects, if the up-conversion was taking place before the effects.
