Dear François,

first of all my compliments for the new web site.
Looks great!!!
Please, I would like to know some informations about
BBE sound processors (like 882 or un-balanced 482).
I need one for my home set-up.

I have to connect it on my Rane 2016 and I need to know
if a general sound improvement will occur (to the efx loop).
I hope that the sound quality of the mixer will not be compromised by the BBE box...
I think that is good for any recording application,
such multitrack recordings or CD mastering.
What do you think about BBE processors?
Have you ever used personally?

Thanx for your kind answer...
hope to see you again at the club!

Sound is usually better left as clean as possible.

Those BBE units are kind of old-school but popular with some sound installers and DJ's. I have seen people
use them since the mid-80's. They supposedly sort of 'enhance' the sound, but to my ears add some strange phase shifting to the high end, somewhat un-natural and possibly irritating depending on how it's set.

If anything I have used those on individual tracks during a mixdown, but don't like them for the whole program.

You should definitely listen before you buy and let your ears decide, not just what other people (like me) say.

Happy trails.

François,

Thank you for reply.

I'm searching for the best sound quality, always
and I agree with you:
ears to decide (when is possible)and less connections
to preserve the original signal.

We don't have a BBE seller in town.
I appreciate your help so much and let me say that
what I don't need is an un-natural and coloured effect.
I was suspicious about this when I saw the BBE for the first time.
Anyway, I hope to try this unit soon on my set-up.
Your advice is a privileged point to start... :)

Thak you again,

faithfully,
- Michele
